Internship: beyond the classroom
Internships are a game-changer for everyone, offering invaluable experiences outside of the classroom. I am fortunate enough to work on Data Specialization at KidoCode.
The best part? It's not just about work. Internships provide a fun, engaging environment where I've learned new skills, explored career paths, and built a strong professional network.
As a tech enthusiast, I've particularly appreciated the hands-on experience and opportunities for career exploration. I've also developed essential skills like problem-solving and time management during busy periods, which have built up my multitasking skills as well.
More than technical skills
Beyond my technical skills, I've focused on being a team player, contributing to the company's goals, and embracing new challenges. Last week I presented on the 4+1 Model View and Agile Software Development to our Data Science team at KidoCode, a task assigned by my supervisor Farhad Hossain that required research, preparation, and clear communication.
I have been working closely as a team with Arsyi Aditama and Muhammad Safwan, who are also interns here. We are collaborating to build a complex Python project in the future to bring innovation within the industry.
I believe that a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn are key to succeeding in an internship. I'm excited to see where this experience leads me next.
What an internship is to me
It's not that overwhelming thing of waking up in the morning and working like a robot. It's about learning through training, lessons and real tasks, with fun and interest, inside a professional office environment, and taking things positively.
It may be a small position, but the performance, contributions, personal development and multitasking skills you show can make a real impression on the company's hiring team.
