Meeting UCSI's leadership in Bangladesh
I was honoured to be invited by UCSI to a meetup with Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah Tapsir, President and Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University Malaysia, together with the Board and Trustee members of the UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus.
The session was presided over by Ariful Bari Mojumder, Senior Vice President of UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus, and Prof. Dr. Kushairi Rajuddin, Pro Vice-Chancellor, alongside the management team and academics of the Bangladesh campus.
It was also a privilege to meet His Excellency Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, whose presence reflected the strong and growing ties between our two countries.
Learning across institutions
I am especially grateful to Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, for gracing the occasion. Leading Bangladesh's first private university, he brings decades of experience in shaping higher education, and his perspective on quality, institutional values, and how universities can put them into practice was truly valuable.
Conversations like this remind us how much stronger our education sector becomes when institutions learn from one another.
My sincere thanks also to Professor Ts Dr Shayla Islam for her kind presence and thoughtful insights, and for inviting us to share ideas on building alumni programmes at the Branch Campus.
Having studied at UCSI, it means a great deal to see the university bring its standard of education to Bangladesh. Congratulations to everyone building this campus, and best wishes for the journey ahead.
